Chris and Allison Drakes
Registered Osteopaths
Chris and Allison are both registered as Osteopaths with the General Osteopathic Council. We hold first class degrees in Osteopathy, having graduated from the College of Osteopaths at the top of our class. We are now Assistant Clinic Tutors at the College of Osteopaths Teaching Clinic.
We also hold diplomas in Sports Massage and Injuries awarded by the Association of Physical and Natural Therapists. We are also licensed NLP practitioners.
Chris previously worked for ten years as an engineer, designer and developer following an HND in Mechanical Engineering and BSc(Hons) in Computer Science.
Allison has been employed as optical physicist, commercial/bid manager, and software engineer, having gained a BSc(Hons) in Physics and Laser Physics.
Their varied leisure interests include yoga, dance, martial arts, skiing, hiking, amateur dramatics and photography.
Summary of Training
Osteopathy
We graduated from the College of Osteopaths, with first class BSc (Hons) degrees in Osteopathy. We also were both awarded distinctions for our Final Clinical Competency exam. We are Osteopaths registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) . We have also taken additional training in Cranial and Visceral Osteopathy.
Sports Massage and Injuries
Awarded diplomas in "Sports Massage and Injuries" by the Association of Physical and Natural Therapists (APNT).
Training was completed at Body Basics in London under the direction of Mr Bhavesh Joshi, a former clinic director at the College of Osteopaths.
Swedish Massage
A certificated course, taught by Mr Mario-Paul Cassar, the founder of the Association of Physical and Natural Therapists (APNT) and the Massage and Bodywork Institute.
Mr Cassar is the author of several leading texts on massage including "The Handbook of Massage Therapy".
Neuro Linguistic Programming
Chris and Allison are Licensed NLP Practitioners.
The practitioner course was run by the hypnotist Paul McKenna, Michael Breen and the founder of NLP, Dr. Richard Bandler.
NLP allows for changing state and behaviour and has wide ranging applications, including sports psychology and motivation.
Yoga
Both have studied yoga for nearly ten years and completed the first teacher training module of Anusara Yoga with Bridget Woods-Kramer of Yoga Ltd.
We taught the anatomy and physiology module on the subsequent teacher training course.
